Sunday’s scoreless draw away to VfL Wolfsburg confirmed Bayern as 2007-8 Bundesliga champions, marked out on the pitch after the final whistle in the now traditional manner with celebratory showers of Bavarian beer sloshed from over-sized glasses. “It’ll be a huge party tonight, the team’s deserved it,” smiled chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, himself victim of a Weißbier shower courtesy of Bastian Schweinsteiger. “He’ll be sold,” Rummenigge quipped.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: ”It’s been a fantastic season. The team has achieved great things and we’re very satisfied. It’ll be a huge party tonight, the team’s deserved it.”
